National Philanthropy Day: Registration

You are invited to submit a Nomination
for the Annual Celebration of Philanthropy in Colorado.

National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy – and those people active in the philanthropic community – have made to our lives, our communities, and our world. Celebrations are held annually in many states across the nation.

Colorado’s 2009 and 20th anniversary celebration will be held on Friday, November 13th at the Marriott Denver City Center in downtown Denver. The luncheon will honor individuals, organizations, foundations, businesses, and corporations for exceptional and impactful philanthropic and volunteer contributions in Colorado. Each year the event sells out bringing 1,000 people together to recognize the accomplishments of award recipients.

Nomination Process
The nomination process is simple. Just complete the enclosed nomination form, answer the narrative questions, and submit it with two letters of support. Additional nomination forms, detailed instructions, and suggestions for a strong application can all be found online at www.npdcolorado.org. Please note that you should not send a cover letter or any other supplemental materials; in fact, extra attachments will not be considered as part of the nomination.

All nominations must be postmarked, faxed or submitted electronically by Friday, July 10, 2009. See steps for submission below.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of community leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, and past award recipients.

NOTE: Each method of delivery must include nomination form, narrative information and letters of support. Separate delivery of any items will not be accepted.

The selection process will take place in mid August and all nominators will be contacted by phone or mail by mid-September. This year’s luncheon to honor the awardees will be held on Friday, November 13,2009 at the Marriott Denver City Center.
